Camp Maddie: Foster Edition - Expanding Foster Programs with Foster+ at Dallas Pets Alive!

Foster+ is an innovative program that strives to reduce barriers to save lives and decrease the number of pets that are euthanized due to overcrowding in our local shelters. You will learn how DPA evaluated our current foster program, how we determined what the priority needs were for our fosters, what new programs we put into place, and how we have seen an impact on our foster base. Part of Foster+ is funded by grants, but we also created new partnerships tominimize or eliminate the costs of some of these new programs. I will also share strategies on how we put these partnerships in place so that other organizations can mimic Foster+ programs without a large expense.

I am the Assistant VP of Animal Operations for a a large animal rescue in DFW. I am also currently serving as the volunteer Foster Director where I oversee 50+ local and global volunteers and over 130 foster families. I provide support to my various volunteer teams, collaborate with other Animal Operations leaders, and assist in creating new, innovating life-saving programs.
