Increasing Adoptions Through Dog Advocacy

Increasing Adoptions Through Dog Advocacy

This course covers how to build an advocacy program for animals who will benefit from extra support to help place them in a loving home. An advocacy program supports the animals in your organization's care on their path toward outcome, with the best welfare and efficiency possible. An advocate is a person who is the number one champion for a particular pet. Pets with advocates are often long-stay pets (over two weeks). The advocacy program helps to shorten their length of stay and get matched with an adopter who is a good fit for them. An advocacy program is most powerful in combination with a care pathway program. The course focuses on dogs but is equally applicable to finding outcomes for cats.
